Contextual Safeguarding Conference – Tuesday 30 January 2024
GET SAFE is a new multi-agency response that aims to protect Herefordshire children from child exploitation and contextual safeguarding concerns where children are risk of being exploited.
To update partners on the new initiative, the Herefordshire Safeguarding Children Partnership is hosting a free, in-person Contextual Safeguarding conference on Tuesday 30 January 2024, from 9am to 5pm at Hereford Racecourse in The Rusty Bridge suite.
Get Safe aims to prevent child criminal exploitation, child sexual exploitation, trafficking of minors, county lines, radicalisation, forced marriage, FGM and honour based violence.
GET SAFE stands for:
Gangs
Sexual Exploitation
Trafficking
Modern Day Slavery

Criminal Exploitation
The conference is free and professionals, practitioners and volunteers are all welcome to attend to hear how we can all work together to strengthen Herefordshire’s response to child exploitation and other contextual safeguarding concerns.
Speakers include:
- Representatives from West Mercia Police,
- British Transport Police
- The SAFE Team
- West Midlands Counter Terrorism Police
- Turning Point (Herefordshire’s alcohol and drug abuse support service)
- Plus: survivor recollections of how they were exploited and living on the streets.
